Civic Education, Mobilization and Outreach programme aims at ensuring the successful realization of the Committee mandate. Specifically, activities in the programme directly support four key result areas; effective public participation in the review process, political consensus and agreement, religious and cultural consensus and an affirmative referendum result.
The civic education aspect is aimed at educating and creating awareness among Kenyans on constitution making in Kenya, the review process, as well as education on the harmonized draft that will be put to referendum. The programme is geared at ensuring effective and efficient coordination of CoE activities. This it undertakes through mobilization and provision of logistical support to various forums. Outreach is a key component of the programme employing advocacy and lobbying for support as a critical strategy in CoE activities. It is through outreach that the programme ensures optimized participation by various stakeholders and Kenyans at large in the review process. This includes inclusion of key interest groups such youth, women, and the disabled. Through outreach, the programme ensures the visibility of the CoE by constant engagement with other stakeholders.
